Working in partnership with local authorities
Our regeneration programmes provide a number of benefits to the local community, and we work alongside the Housing Association or Council to understand what they feel will benefit the area. Some of the benefits we’ve provided include:
- Using local labour wherever possible
- Utilising local services and businesses wherever possible, e.g. provision of skips
- Involving schools and residents in organised events that encourage them to take pride in their community
- Encouraging prominent visitors to see the works, for instance MP’s or celebrities
- Sponsoring local football teams
- Project street parties with local residents to thank them for their patience
- Work experience schemes, giving long term unemployed people job experience
- Support to those applying for jobs e.g. giving advice on what employers are looking for and how to apply
- Apprenticeship schemes, often leading to full time positions and working towards NVQs
- Providing funding to regenerate local facilities, e.g. renovating tennis courts and developing new school paths
